Comparative analysis of professional English texts

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to compare three professional English texts which describe humanoid robots, each from a different perspective. The first text is taken from a scientific magazine called ‘Science Robotics‘ and represents the popular-scientific style. The second text is taken from the book ‘Humanoid Robots, Human-like machines‘ and it is an example of the scientific prose style. The third material used for the analysis is a video that was released on a YouTube channel of company CNET. It was necessary to convert the video to written form, before starting to analyse it. Certainly, there are considerable distinctions between these texts because they are intended for different types of readers or listeners. The bachelor thesis describes the contents of these three texts and explains their styles. Moreover, the thesis focuses on the comparison of spoken and written discourse, the language functions of the texts according to the linguist Roman Jacobson, and the register levels of the analysis.

V naší diplomové práci pojednáváme o chybách v psaných projevech rusky hovořících. Snažíme se prozkoumat chyby rusky hovořících na materiálu českého jazyka a vytvořit několik lingvodidaktických doporučení, jak látku lépe vyložit a chybám předejít. Představujeme dnes hojně užívanou komunikační metodu pro výuku cizích jazyků a přibližujeme čtyři základní řečové dovednosti. Klíčová slova: komunikační metoda, řečové dovednosti, psaný projev, psaná komunikace, chyba, třídění chyb, příčiny vzniku chyb, hodnocení chyb.
